Includes access to keynotes and sessions (September 6-7), lunch (both days), community hall, and all evening events.
Training will be held on Friday, September 8, with lunch provided. Training classes are 8 hours each, from 8:30am-5:00pm, and they run concurrently. You will need to select one OR the other.
NGINX Core is an 8 hour course that provides the foundation you need to administer, configure, and manage NGINX. Through lecture and hands-on activities you implement NGINX as a web server, load balancer, and as a reverse proxy. You'll secure your site with SSL/TLS, improve site performance with caching and compression. And you'll learn how to monitor and troubleshoot your site with live activity monitoring, custom logging, and dynamic server configuration. Whether you are new to NGINX, starting your first NGINX project, or refining your DevOps skills, NGINX Core will give you a grounding you can build on. NGINX Core is also your gateway to more advanced training topics like Microservices Network Architectures with NGINX, and others.
Developing NGINX Modules is a hands-on NGINX module development workshop using the new NGINX Studio IDE. In this session you'll learn to use the NGINX Studio IDE on Eclipse to create modules to extend NGINX functionality. You'll start Developing NGINX Modules by setting up the NGINX Studio and configuring the SDK. You'll then create a simple handler module, setup its configuration directives, write unit tests, build and test it. After completing your handler module, you'll dive into deeper features for your module. Using the code viewer, you'll explore NGINX's Core, HTTP, and Stream modules; you'll see clearly the anatomy of Filter, Handler, Proxy Handler, and Load Balancer Modules. You'll apply what you've learned by creating, building, testing, and launching new NGINX modules of a variety of types.
